--QLogic's 3200 series 10GbE adapters and 8200 series 10GbE converged network adapters (CNAs) are now certified and available in HP's ProLiant ML and DL servers. HP will resell the cards as the NC523SFP Dual Port 10GbE Server Adapter and StorageWorks CN1000Q Dual Port Converged Network Adapter, respectively.The CNAs support 10GbE, FCoE and iSCSI.
--Emulex announced that its OneConnect technology, based on its BladeEngine 3 (BE3) 10GbE I/O Controller, will provide an Integraed FlexFabric Adapter for two HP ProLiant G7 server blades: the ProLiant BL620c G7 server and ProLiant BL680c G7 server. Emulex is now providing LOM, CNA and NIC devices for six HP ProLiant G7 server blades.
--The VCE Coalition (Cisco, EMC and VMware) and Acadia have combined into a single entity renamed The Virtual Computing Environment (VCE). Michael Capellas is chairman and CEO of VCE. Formerly, Acadia was a standalone company focused on managed service delivery around VCE Coalition technology deployments, while the VCE Coalition focused on technology integration, pre-sales and product support. The Acadia brand has been retired. VCE claims to have more than 120 partners selling its Vblock Infrastructure Platforms.
--Cloud storage specialist Cirtas Systems has tapped Gary Messiana as CEO. Messiana formerly held CEO positions at Netli and Diligent Software. Cirtas co-founder Dan Decasper continues as Cirtas’ CTO. The company also announced Series B funding of $22.5 million, led by Shasta Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners as well as first round investors NEA, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Amazon. Cirtas’ flagship product is the Bluejet Cloud Storage Controller.

--FalconStor Software recently named James McNiel as president and CEO, as well as a board member. McNiel was formerly FalconStor’s interim president and CEO. Prior to joining FalconStor in 1999, McNiel was an executive vice president of corporate development at Cheyenne Software. FalconStor also hired former Symantec sales executive John W. Turner as vice president of North American sales.
Separately, FalconStor launched a Partner Advisory Council. Initial partners include Blueline Services, Chi, Cima Solutions, CDW, ePlus, Mainline Information Systems, Netrix, Open Storage Solutions, Peak Uptime, RedLegg, Syscom USA, Thundercat, Xdata and Zones.
--Cloud archiving specialist Sonian has received $9 million in Series B funding. New investors include Amazon and Webroot. Existing investors, also participating in the Series B funding, include Summerhill Venture Partners and Prism VentureWorks.
