--NetApp and Accenture have expanded their relationship on two fronts. The companies will jointly develop and market a customized set of solutions for data center optimization and virtualization, cloud computing and application optimization. Second, NetApp will expand its Professional Services organization by leveraging a dedicated team from Accenture that will provide consulting and integration services.
--Netgear and Acronis announced that Acronis Backup & Recovery software is now shipping with all Netgear ReadyNAS Business network storage systems. The two companies began partnering in August 2010.
RAID vendor Promise Technology has signed a distribution agreement with Promark Technology. The agreement includes Promise’s VTrak x30, VTrack S3000, VTrak x10 and VessRAID product lines.
--With the introduction of its SANsymphony-V software, DataCore has added a number of alliance partners, including Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, Fujitsu, Xiotech, iTernity and others.

--Redstor, a European cloud storage service provider, has partnered with Nasuni, which supplies cloud storage gateways. The Redstor Cloud NAS service is based on the Nasuni Filer NAS server, and is powered by EMC Atmos.
--Violin Memory has secured $35 million in Series B funding. Investors include NAND flash supplier Toshiba America Electronic Components and Juniper Networks. Toshiba has invested in Violin Memory since April 2010.
--Startup NexGen Storage announced Series A financing led by Grotech Ventures, with participation from Access Venture Partners. NexGen is expected to release a SAN storage product for virtual server environments later this year. NexGen was founded in early 2010 by John Spiers (formerly co-founder and CEO/CTO at LeftHand Networks) and Kelly Long (formerly a co-founder and chief software architect at LeftHand).
