-- Ending months of speculation, solid-state disk (SSD) specialist STEC officially announced an extensive collaboration deal with IBM that includes the availability of STEC's Zeus-IOPS SSD in a variety of IBM storage systems, including the System Storage DS8000, Power Series servers and direct-attached storage (DAS) systems.

-- Toshiba and Fujitsu have completed the transfer of Fujitsu's disk drive business (with the exception of its head production and media business) to Toshiba.

-- Emulex's Fibre Channel HBAs now support HP’s new StorageWorks 6400 and 8400 EVAs for Windows Server, HP and Linux operating systems.

-- Panasas is partnering with Dell to deliver a clustered computing system for the life sciences research community.  The solution combines Dell’s PowerEdge M610 blade servers, based on the Intel Xeon processor 5500 series architecture, and Panasas' ActiveStor platform. 

-- Informatica's Data Archive solution, acquired earlier this year through the purchase of Applimation, has been certified for use with the Hitachi Content Archive Platform.
