The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) and Infinity I/O have launched a certification program to train IT professional in Fibre Channel-based storage area networks (SANs). Created by Infinity I/O, the program is an initial module in SNIA's overall network storage certification program. Infinity I/O will be the exclusive developer and provider of Fibre Channel SAN certification for SNIA.

According to Mike Alvarado, chairperson of the SNIA Education Committee, the goal of the certification program is to provide a benchmark by which employers can measure their IT staff. The program will start in mid-summer.

Infinity I/O is a vendor-neutral training firm with offices in Half Moon Bay, CA, and Reading, United Kingdom. For general information, visit www.infinityio.com. For information on the storage networking certification program, contact Viv Samuel at viv@infinityio.co.uk.
