3PAR (NYSE: PAR) announced support for VMware vSphere 4.1 and has developed a plug-in for VMware vStorage APIs for Array Integration (VAAI). The plug-in supports VAAI features such as Hardware Assisted Locking, Block Zero and Full Copy.

Tests conducted by DeepStorage Labs showed that NetEx's HyperIP software boosted performance of Hyper-V Live Migration by a factor of up to 16X across a variety of emulated WAN links between geographically dispersed sites. HyperV is a software-only WAN optimization solution.

Microsoft's Windows Hardware Qualification Lab (WHQL) has certified Violin Memory's 3200 Series Memory Array, which is based on flash technology. The 3200 scales to 10TB of SLC NAND flash with performance of up to two million IOPS, according to the company.

Cloudera and Netezza announced an agreement to connect Netezza data warehouse appliances and Apache Hadoop. Cloudera is a provider of Hadoop-based data management software and services. Cloudera is building a connector that will enable data movement between Netezza's TwinFin appliances and the Cloudera Distribution for Hadoop (CDH).

CTERA Networks has become a Mezeo Ready Solution Partner. Mezeo's service providers can extend their cloud services with CTERA's Cloud Attached Storage platforms, which use onsite appliances as cloud gateways for backup and remote access services managed via the CTERA Portal.

NTP Software announced a partnership with GlassHouse Technologies, a consulting and services firm, under which GlassHouse will provide 24x7 services for customers of NTP's monitoring and management software, which includes capacity reporting, quota management, file auditing and file blocking.
