The data in these charts is compiled from the IT Brand Pulse April 2009 Leader Surveys. As part of each survey, end users were asked which vendor they perceive as the market leader in various technology areas, including 10Gbps Ethernet adapters and 8Gbps Fibre Channel adapters, switches and storage systems. The survey reports also include users' perceptions of vendor leadership in price, performance, reliability, service and support, and innovation. The reports compile data from 127 survey respondents.
Commenting on one of the surprises in the survey results, IT Brand Pulse CEO Frank Berry notes: "In advance of general availability of 10Gbps iSCSI or FCoE storage systems, two powerful brands newly appear on the storage leader board and dominated the 10Gbps Ethernet adapter category. Intel is perceived as the leader in 10Gbps Ethernet adapters that will be used with iSCSI and FCoE software initiators, and Broadcom was a close second.
