-- Ocarina Networks has entered into a reseller deal with Hewlett-Packard (HP) under which HP customers can purchase Ocarina's content-aware compression and data deduplication platform directly from HP and its partners. The "Ocarina ECOsystem for HP" integrates with HP's NAS systems, including the StorageWorks ExDS9100.

-- DataCore Software has teamed up with Citrix Systems to distribute a free to try, downloadable, DataCore Virtual SAN Appliance, and that it has released a Citrix StorageLink adapter to integrate its storage virtualization solutions with Citrix Essentials for XenServer and Microsoft Hyper-V.  The Virtual SAN Appliance evaluation software makes it possible to try Citrix Essentials with a StorageLink-certified, iSCSI shared storage SAN  that can pool up to 1TB of disk space, thin provision storage to virtual machines, speed up application performance, and create snapshots for Instant Volume Cloning and Fast Disk-to-Disk Backups. The DataCore Virtual SAN Appliance and StorageLink Adapter can be downloaded from DataCore's website.

-- Credant Technologies has released Credant Mobile Guardian Enterprise Edition (CMG EE v6.5), which includes full disk encryption and protection for Mac OS X in addition to improvements in usability, transparency and manageability for end users of Windows and smart phone devices. -- Also for Mac environments, Kroll Ontrack has launched a global Data Recovery Portal for Apple customers. Through its Ontrack Data Recovery services, Kroll Ontrack offers data recovery solutions for Apple customers with Mac systems, servers, applications, files, operating systems as well as iPod and iPhone devices.

-- NEC Corporation of America is rolling out new financing initiatives in the U.S. Until the end of 2009, NEC is offering eligible organizations their choice of zero percent financing until 2012 or no payments for 120 days on eligible NEC Dynamic IT Infrastructure products.

-- Unitrends' family of integrated data protection appliances now supports VMware vSphere 4 to provide backups across virtualized and non-virtualized environments. Unitrends' rapid data-recovery systems provide redundant layers of protection, including LAN-based Data Protection Units, removable disks for near-line archiving, and electronic, media-less, offsite protection for all data and systems through Data Protection Vaults.

-- CommVault is beefing up its North American channel program. The company announced that it has dedicated development funds to its PartnerAdvantage Channel Program to help increase awareness and sales of its Simpana software. More than 70 channel partners now can take advantage of additional funds to support external marketing campaigns and/or sales initiatives.
