Veritas Software is teaming with IBM to deliver storage management solutions for complex multi-vendor environments. IBM will add Veritas' products to its data infrastructure services for platforms including AIX, Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, and Windows. IBM will provide enterprise consulting, implementation support, and maintenance services.
ExaDrive Networks' Diamond Series RAID array now supports up to 3.8TB of capacity in a single 3U 19-inch rack-mountable cabinet. The array provides Fibre Channel or SCSI connectivity (including Ultra160) while using ATA drive technology. The company claims it can provide up to 200% more capacity than other similar products. The RAID storage array contains up to 24 160GB ATA disk drives and costs less than $0.015 per megabyte.
TrelliSoft has joined EMC's E-Infostructure Developers Program to enhance management of heterogeneous storage environments. The company has also joined the Brocade Fabric Threads Developer Program.
DataCore Software and IBM have established an agreement, whereby IBM and its worldwide resellers will sell DataCore's SANsymphony storage networking software to IBM TotalStorage Enterprise Storage Server ("Shark") customers. Under the agreement, IBM's "Shark" customers can take advantage of SANsymphony's IP-based mirroring and other storage management functions. Separately, Data Core Software closed its third round of funding (totaling more than $35 million) with strategic investments from Hitachi and Intel.
Eurologic Systems has signed a VAR agreement with StorNet, whereby StorNet will offer Eurologic's network storage solutions for enterprise and e-business applications.
EMC has created three new operating units. Storage Platform Operations will integrate all engineering and manufacturing operations for EMC's storage platforms. This unit includes the development of EMC's Symmetrix and Clariion families of network storage systems and Celerra NAS systems. Open Software Operations, responsible for the development and acceleration of software products and their integration with other industry products, includes the software portfolio in support of EMC's Automated Information Storage strategy. Customer Operations is responsible for maximizing the worldwide distribution and support of EMC's storage platforms, open software technologies, and services.
Compaq has selected Emulex's LightPulse LP9002L Fibre Channel host bus adapter to provide connectivity for its StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array.
Dot Hill Systems announced major enhancements to its SANpath storage networking software and SANscape storage management software for SANnet storage systems and appliances. Both products now support IP interfaces, iSCSI, and the AIX operating system. SANpath 3.2 and SANscape 2.4 provide improved support for the SANnet RAID Blade and support the new SANnet Axis storage appliances.
Oracle-certified configurations are now available for Dell servers and storage. The configurations will help customers lower risk and speed deployment of the Oracle9i database in a single node system or clustered environment.
FalconStor Software and INLINE have announced an OEM agreement, whereby INLINE will offer a custom version of IPStor with its MorStor TruFibre and FileStorm family of high-performance SAN and NAS storage solutions. Dubbed VirtualStor, the integrated solution combines IPStor with INLINE's Fibre Channel RAID storage line.
StorageTek and McData have completed initial integration and testing activities between StorageTek's open system tape libraries and McData's fabric switches and Director products.
Benchmark Storage Innovations and Quantum/ATL announced plans to extend their tape-drive relationship into the automation space with the integration of Benchmark's ValuSmart Tape 80 drives into Quantum/ATL PowerStor L200 and L500 libraries. Separately, Benchmark Storage Innovations' ValuSmart 640 Blade has been selected by Hewlett-Packard for integration into the HP Surestore product line. Shipments of the HP Surestore tape autoloader 1/8 are slated to begin during the first quarter of this year.

Quantum has integrated OTG Software's DiskXtender data aggregation software into its SnapServer line of NAS appliances. Called Snap Server DiskXtender Appliance Edition, the software management tool manages data storage by consolidating and centralizing distributed network data into a virtual storage pool.
Fujitsu Softek's TDMF Open Systems and Mainframe Edition data replication and migration software will be used to assist Hewlett-Packard customers in migrating their business-critical data onto new HP storage systems. The worldwide licensing agreement calls for Fujitsu to provide software and training to HP's services professionals.
Vicom Systems will provide Hewlett-Packard with technology that enables protocol conversion between SCSI and Fibre Channel for the Hewlett-Packard e3000 server. The HP e3000 SCSI-to-Fibre Channel Fabric Router enables e3000 customers to protect their investment by supporting switched fabric connectivity for a seamless transition to a Fibre Channel SAN.
FalconStor Software and NS Solutions have formed a partnership to incorporate IPStor into NS Solutions' portfolio of IT offerings. NS Solutions will provide its customers with a line of multi-function storage disks, with IPStor embedded to provide network-based storage services such as snapshots, remote disaster recovery, mirroring, fast backup/restore enablers, and virtual storage capacity management.
