Vixel and BlueArc have signed an OEM agreement, whereby BlueArc's Si7500 Storage System will incorporate Vixel's Fibre Channel switches to provide high-speed connectivity and path redundancy between servers and storage arrays. The Si7500 Storage System employs BlueArc's Silicon Server architecture, resulting in a throughput speed of 2,000Mbps.

Compaq Global Services and Legato Systems will jointly implement backup solutions for storage customers using Legato NetWorker. With CarePaq Services, the new Compaq/Legato SAN backup implementation, companies can configure, install, and test the Legato NetWorker product.

Procom Technology has obtained $9.75 million in new financing from First Bank & Trust, which provides the company with $8.5 million in cash and a $1 million holdback for tenant improvements.

Dainippon Screen Engineering of America (DSEA), a system integrator for Screen's graphic arts product line, has named ATTO Technology as its OEM partner for its new Mac OS X-compatible Raster Image Processor (RIP). Under terms of the agreement, ATTO is supplying its ExpressPCI PSC and ExpressPCI PSCd single-channel Ultra/WIDE SCSI host bus adapters, which are being bundled with Screen's new Mac OS X-based HQ-510 software RIP to provide high-performance data transfers.

Overland Data is partnering with Computer Associates, QLogic, and nStor Technologies to promote the adoption and maximize the performance of 2Gbps serverless backup for Fibre Channel-based SAN environments.

Mountain View Data has secured $3 million in its first round of outside funding. Investors include Nippon Venture Capital, Orix Capital, and Tsunami Network Partners.

Texas Memory Systems and LSI Logic are partnering to promote high-bandwidth and high I/O Fibre Channel solutions for the enterprise storage market. Highlighted products are Texas Memory Systems' RamSan-210 solid-state disk and LSI Logic's line of 2Gb Fibre Channel host bus adapters.

Brocade, Compaq, Emulex, IBM, JNI, and QLogic are jointly delivering an end-to-end SAN solution, registered under the SNIA Supported Solutions Forum, that extends multi-vendor interoperability and support for SAN customers. The solution consists of heterogeneous Compaq, IBM, and other server platforms connected to a Compaq StorageWorks or an IBM Enterprise Storage Server using Brocade SilkWorm fabric switches.

FalconStor is partnering with Conservor, a Texas-based storage service provider, to incorporate IPStor into Conservor's VIP brand family of IP SAN solutions. The first of these solutions is Ripsnorter VIP, which will leverage IPStor's virtualization, key-based security, and IP connectivity to enable Conservor to deliver mission-critical storage management services. The partnership also gives FalconStor access to the IBM mainframes in Conservor's solutions portfolio.

Quantum has signed an agreement to license Overland Data's Variable Rate Randomizer (VR2) technology, which will be integrated into future Quantum tape drive offerings. VR2 can increase native capacity and native data-transfer performance of existing linear tape technologies by as much as 50% to 100%, without requiring any changes in tape path design, recording heads, or media.

Vixel has announced an exclusive OEM agreement with Avid Technology, whereby end users will be offered audio/visual editing systems that enable inline editing of uncompressed HDTV files. Avid will integrate Vixel's 9000 Series 2Gbps Fibre Channel switches into its next generation of products, including MediaNet video and Trilligent streaming media solutions. The 9000 Series supports 32 switches and seven hops in multi-layer environments, offering the increased scalability needed for attaining new density levels in large switch meshes.

SANcastle Technologies and Anritsu's Network Solutions Division are teaming to offer an integrated solution for data and storage networking. As a result of the multi-year reseller agreement, Anritsu will integrate SANcastle's GFS-8 multi-protocol storage switch with its MultiFlow 5000 GbE Layer 2/3/4 switch family.

FalconStor Software and INLINE have announced an OEM agreement, whereby INLINE will offer a custom version of IPStor with its MorStor TruFibre and FileStorm family of high-performance SAN and NAS storage solutions. Dubbed VirtualStor, the integrated solution combines IPStor with INLINE's Fibre Channel RAID storage line.
