Intelligent Information Systems, iReady, QLogic, and Quantum recently demonstrated an iSCSI SAN linking a facility in Israel with three sites in California. The demonstration included iSCSI logins from several remote sites, as well as the transfer of storage data between remote initiators and targets.
EYT (formerly Ernst & Young Technologies) and Network Appliance have teamed to offer storage-on-demand solutions (SODS), an alternative to buying and supporting enterprise storage solutions. The NetApp Center-to-Edge storage offerings will provide customers of both companies with seamless data management from the back-end data center to the edge of the network.
Anritsu's Network Solutions Division and Digital Networks have entered into a strategic business and technology alliance. Under the agreement, the companies will jointly develop and market high-performance enterprise-class network products.
The SCSI Trade Association (www.scsita.org) and the Serial Attached SCSI Working Group have announced that STA will promote and define the marketing requirements for the emerging Serial Attached SCSI specification. McData has filed a complaint in the US District Court for the District of Colorado against Brocade Communications Systems, for infringement of McData's US Patent No. 6,233,236-Method and Apparatus for Measuring Traffic Within a Switch. This patent, issued on May 15, 2001, discloses and claims important aspects of the operation for filtering and measuring frame traffic within a switch.
TrueSAN Networks has become a Brocade Fabric Access Partner, thereby gaining access to the Brocade Fabric Access API, Brocade development support, and Brocade SAN interoperability labs. As a Fabric Access partner, TrueSAN can deliver advanced SAN management technology for Brocade SilkWorm fabric switches and will also cooperate with Brocade on solution testing and qualification.
FalconStor Software has joined the Oracle PartnerNetwork and will now have online access to Oracle development for new product information as well as early previews of new technology.
