JNI has signed an OEM agreement with Sun Microsystems to supply Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs). The agreement pertains to the entire family of JNI FibreStar products, including single- and dual-port Fibre Channel HBAs with PCI bus, SBus, and CompactPCI bus connections, operating at 1Gb and 2Gb speeds.

Datalink andDataCore Software have a strategic partnership, whereby Datalink is incorporating DataCore's SANsymphony storage networking platform into its storage management and control offerings.

Emulex has signed an OEM partnership agreement with Network Appliance, whereby NetApp will offer Emulex's 2Gbps LightPulse LP9002L as HBAs for NetApp's FAS900 NAS-SAN platforms. Separately, Emulex's LightPulse LP9002S 2Gbps Fibre Channel HBA for the SBus achieved Solaris Ready Certification from Sun Microsystems.

StoreAge Networking Technologies announced the availability of its SVM Policy Manager for Exchange, which fully automates the management of storage in Microsoft Exchange environments. Using a rules-based policy engine, SVM Policy Manager maximizes application uptime and data availability by enabling a wide range of business continuance, disaster recovery, application testing, and backup activities to occur without taking Exchange systems offline. Separately, StoreAge and KOM NETWORKS have a partnership agreement to deliver policy-based storage management solutions that operate across most storage platforms.

FalconStor Software announced a strategic alliance with Hyosung lnformation Systems Co. Ltd., a joint venture with Hitachi Data Systems and Hyosung Group, to bring network storage solutions to the Korean marketplace. As a result of the alliance, Hyosung lnformation Systems becomes an authorized distributor of FalconStor products.

SBC Services, an affiliate of SBC Communications, has signed a multi-year amendment agreement to purchase Nortel Networks OPTera Metro 5100 Multiservice Platform for its network. This agreement builds on a contract SBC signed with Nortel last year to support its Multi-Service Optical Networking (MON) service using Nortel Networks OPTera Metro 5200.

Princeton Softech and Brooks-PRI have a technology partnership to integrate Princeton Softech's Active Archive Solutions with Brooks-PRI's FACTORYworks. Princeton Softech's Active Archive Solutions address excessive data growth in a range of mission-critical environments, including ERP, CRM, and vertical market applications across a range of industries.

StorageNetworks signed six members to its new STORos Value-added Reseller (VAR) program, including Acclaim Technologies, AE Business Solutions, NearTek, Northrop Grumman, Nth Generation, and SYSCOM. Through the VAR channel, StorageNetworks expands the geographic and industry reach for its STORos platform and the STORos StorageManager application.

Raidtec and Eurologic will OEM Vixel's InSpeed embedded Fibre Channel storage switches for integration into the front-end of the two companies' disk arrays.

Pioneer-Standard's Computer Systems Division and Inrange Technologies finalized an agreement, whereby Pioneer-Standard will resell Inrange's family of SAN solutions, SoIP, channel extension, optical networking, and SAN performance and monitoring products. The partnership also designates Pioneer-Standard's Enterprise Sales Group as a preferred reseller for Inrange.

FalconStor Software's IPStor has successfully completed compatibility and interoperability testing required to achieve certified compatibility (JP1 Certified) for interoperability with Hitachi's JP1 integrated system operation and management software solution.

EVault has acquired Arceo, a services company specializing in data backup, storage, and recovery. As a result of the deal, EVault will house an electronic vault in Birmingham, AL, allowing southeast customers the security of being able to retrieve data from the vault in a short period of time should a disaster arise. All Arceo assets, including sales and technical support teams, are included in the acquisition. Financial terms were not disclosed.

CNT's UltraNet Edge Storage Router and UltraNet Storage Director will now be available worldwide through Hitachi Data Systems. The UltraNet Edge Storage Router has also successfully completed qualification with Hitachi TrueCopy software.

Dot Hill Systems has begun volume shipments of a new line of storage systems to Sun Microsystems. The shipments are a result of a three-year OEM partner agreement signed by the two companies in May 2002. Under the terms of the agreement, Dot Hill will develop, to Sun specifications, privately branded software and RAID storage systems for Sun.

Nexsan Technologies will offer a customized version of UniTrends Software's BareMetal Plus crash recovery and backup/restore software as part of an agreement between the two companies.

Akara's OUSP has successfully completed interoperability testing with IBM's TotalStorage Enterprise Storage products and has earned the IBM TotalStorage Proven designation. Separately, LXI's Media Management System has also been certified TotalStorage Proven by IBM.
