-- Cloud storage services provider Nirvanix has raised an additional $5 million in funding from original investors Intel Capital, Mission Ventures, Valhalla Partners and Windward Ventures, bringing the total amount of funding to more than $23 million.
-- StoredIQ has closed an $8 million round of investment financing from its existing investors, including S3 Ventures and Techxas Ventures. StoredIQ will use the financing to expand its information management and eDiscovery product line, grow its industry partnerships and accelerate marketing and distribution initiatives.
-- Cloud backup and recovery provider Asigra announced the Asigra Hybrid Partner Program. Asigra's hybrid channel delivery model gives partners a choice of reselling on-premise software, delivering Asigra-powered backup and recovery services, hosting Asigra-powered backup and recovery vaults, and offering disaster recovery (DR) services that include replication of Asigra vaults and/or support for Asigra customers with installation, management and related services.
-- Iron Mountain is expanding its digital archiving platform for e-mail management. The new Total Email Management Suite, which is based on technology from Mimecast, offers e-mail archiving, security and data leak prevention hosted in Iron Mountain's data centers. In addition, Iron Mountain customers can now transfer their archived data to Iron Mountain subsidiary Stratify's Legal Discovery Services, should they require eDiscovery support.
-- InfiniBand interconnect vendor Voltaire has announced its new adVantage Partner Program, which serves up sales, marketing and technical training, and support services to assist worldwide partners in their sales efforts. The adVantage Partner Program provides partners with Voltaire's portfolio of interconnect technologies, including Grid Director switches, Ethernet and storage gateways, server and management software, server adapters and cables. Participating companies also receive partner certification from Voltaire.
-- Numonyx B.V. and Virident Systems have signed a letter of intent to develop and market non-volatile memory solutions from Numonyx as a core architectural component of Virident's upcoming GreenCloud servers. According to the companies, the combination will significantly increase the performance and improve the energy efficiency of Internet data centers and high data-centric cloud applications.
-- Emulex has optimized its LightPulse 8Gbps Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) for use with the new generation of IBM System x Intel Xeon processor 5500 series-based servers.
-- Gear6 is set to launch a new memcached-based appliance called Web Cache. Web Cache, a new product currently out of beta and being sold through an "early access" program, is a memcached-based appliance that offers built-in fail over and replication, reduces the number of memcached servers required and provides new levels of management and control over memcached deployments.
