AT&T introduced E-Mail Archiving, a managed service to help companies comply with data-retention regulations. The service (and data) is hosted at AT&T's 21 Internet Data Centers. AT&T E-Mail Archiving is based on EMC's Centera storage systems and KVS Inc.'s Enterprise Vault software. Features include automatic archiving and automated regulatory compliance via pre-set retention periods.

Catalyst Enterprises has entered the storage interface test market with a line of protocol analyzers, exercisers, and emulators for Serial ATA (SATA) and Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS) products. The company currently sells a range of test equipment for interfaces such as PCI, PCI-X, PCI Express, and USB. Catalyst recently joined the SCSI Trade Association (STA).

Tacit Networks has secured $16.9 million in its second round of financing, bringing total capital raised to $24.2 million. JPMorgan Partners, the private equity arm of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., led the funding, with participation by new investor CTTV Investments LLC, the venture capital division of ChevronTexaco, and follow-on investments from all of the existing Series A backers—Canaan Partners, RRE Ventures, and SAS Investors.

Intransa and Atempo have a strategic alliance to deliver IP SANs that combine Intransa's IP5000 storage system and Atempo's Time Navigator data-protection software.

Xtore has a national distribution agreement with Condre Storage, a service provider of data storage and interchange solutions, and a distributor of hard disk drive and tape storage systems. Condre Storage will offer the entire line of Xtore DAS and NAS products through its reseller and VAR channels in the US.

AmeriVault has joined forces with Atlanta-based CareCentric, a provider of management information systems to the healthcare community, to provide online backup and recovery to healthcare organizations throughout the US. Through this alliance, CareCentric will offer AmeriVault's online backup-and-recovery solutions to more than 1,300 customers.

StorageTek announced the qualification of Veritas NetBackup and Data Lifecycle Manager software with the StorageTek StreamLine SL8500 Modular Library System.

Infortrend Europe Ltd. has signed an agreement with Anacomp Ltd., a global provider of information outsourcing services, maintenance support, and imaging and print solutions, to provide support for Infortrend's line of RAID controllers and subsystems. Anacomp will deliver support services to Infortrend customers in Europe as an authorized and accredited support partner.

Zycko, a global distributor of networking, storage, and server accessories, has signed an exclusive partnership with US-based Troika Networks, which will allow Zycko exclusive UK distribution of Troika's Network Storage Services Platform (NSSP).

OuterBay has an OEM partnership with Sybase that includes plans for the integration of OuterBay's ADM Suite and Sybase's relational database management system, Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE), and its analytics engine, Sybase IQ. Both companies intend to bring an integrated database archiving solution to market.
