  • WysDM Software (formerly SysDM), a data protection management company, has changed its name. The new name, WysDM, reflects the company's core value proposition?offering customers wisdom about their data protection environments.
  • LSI Logic has appointed ASI as an authorized distributor in the Americas for LSI Logic MegaRAID and host bus adapter (HBA) solutions, including Ultra320 SCSI, Fibre Channel, Serial ATA (SATA), 3Gbps Serial attached SCSI (SAS), and SATA II products.
  • StorageTek and Deloitte Consulting unveiled a strategic alliance to work together in implementing StorageTek's information archiving solution, which has been designed to help customers comply with certain regulatory requirements affecting data storage.
  • D&H Distributing will offer its resellers Spectra Logic's new Spectra S50 LTO library, the Spectra 2K AIT library, DAStape and NAStape stand-alone tape drives, and certified media products targeted at midrange business customers.
  • AppIQ recently announced the OpenIQ program, an initiative designed to accelerate development of applications based on the SMI-S and CIM standards. The program provides a reference platform, a set of specifications and programming interfaces, and middleware. OpenIQ members have not yet been announced, although AppIQ's OEM partners include Engenio, Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi Data Systems, SGI, and Sun.
  • XOsoft has signed a strategic OEM agreement with StoneFly Networks. StoneFly Networks will re-license XOsoft's WANSync and WANSyncHA software under the StoneFly Replicator CDP brand.
  • GoldenGate Software has introduced GoldenGate Veridata, a solution for comparing data between active databases. Veridata rapidly compares large volumes of dynamic data to identify and report discrepancies, without interruption to ongoing business processes.
  • Bell Microproducts and FalconStor Software have partnered to deliver backup-and-recovery appliances for the small to medium-sized business (SMB) market.
