  • The organizers of the annual Storage World Conference (SWC) will be adding a second event in 2006. SWC Fall will be held at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, September 19-21, 2006, and will include tutorials, expert panel discussions, and exhibits. SWC Spring will be held in Long Beach, CA, June 20-22, 2006. The spring event will be held in conjunction with the third annual Association of Storage Networking Professionals (ASNP) Summit.   • ONStor and 3PAR have released the UtiliCat, a new unified storage offering that delivers consolidated SAN and NAS services.
  • FileNet has entered into an agreement to acquire Vancouver, Canada-based Yaletown Technology Group, a provider of content compliance software, in an all-cash transaction worth approximately $11 million. Separately, FileNet has announced partnerships with several records and information management services firms, including Access Sciences, IMERGE Consulting, Inc., Millican & Associates, and Robbins-Gioia.
  • OuterBay has successfully completed Oracle's validation of its Application Data Management (ADM) Suite for integration with Oracle E-Business Suite. This validation program is a part of Oracle PartnerNetwork's Application Integration Initiative.
  • LSI Logic has announced Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) IC design wins with Dell and Sun, in addition to recent wins with Hewlett-Packard and Fujitsu-Siemens. Other OEMs, including NEC, Chinese server maker Lenovo, and Taiwan server maker ACER, will also be using LSI Logic SAS products. LSI Logic has also completed extensive interoperability testing with Seagate, Maxtor, Hitachi, and Fujitsu.
  • FalconStor and Volante, an Australian-owned ICT infrastructure and services company, have an agreement, whereby Volante will integrate FalconStor's IPStor software and VirtualTape Library technology with infrastructure solutions and services from its existing vendor and professional services portfolio.
  • Spectra Logic half-inch T-series libraries (Spectra T50, T120, and T950) now support IBM's TotalStorage LTO Ultrium 3 WORM-capable tape drives and WORM media to help organizations address compliance regulations.
  • KOM Networks has a strategic alliance with Hummingbird Ltd. to provide a combined content management and data archival solution using KOMworx compliance and archiving software and Hummingbird Enterprise software.
  • Engenio is teaming with Oracle to define high-availability (HA) best practices using Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) and Engenio storage platforms.
  • Red Hat Global File System (GFS) is now supported by Oracle for use in Oracle RAC solutions, EMC Clariion networked storage systems, EMC Celerra iSCSI NAS systems solutions, and Network Appliance for SAN interface solutions.
  • CBL Data Recovery Technologies has opened a service facility in Houston, TX.
