  • Incipient has secured $24 million in Series D financing, bringing the total equity capital raised to $79 million. Leading this round is new investor QuestMark Partners, along with participation from Wasatch Advisors. Incipient's major existing investors Globespan Capital Partners, GrandBanks Capital, Greylock, HLM Venture Partners, and Sigma Partners also participated in this round of funding.
  • KOM Networks and WiT, a storage distributor and system integrator in Japan, have a distribution agreement that will help address the growing demand for data archiving and compliance solutions in the Japanese IT market.
  • Kazeon has joined the Google Enterprise Professional program and will integrate its storage indexing and classification product, the Information Server IS1200, with Google's enterprise search offerings.
    AMCC has a distribution partnership with D&H Distributing, a national computer products and consumer electronics distributor. D&H will now carry AMCC's full line of storage products, including the 3ware 9550SX Series Serial ATA (SATA) II RAID controllers and the 9000 Series SATA RAID controllers.
  • Texas Memory Systems introduced its Fast Access Storage Tested (FAST) program to help IT managers and database administrators configure high-performance storage networks that can accelerate I/O-intensive databases, OLTP (online transaction processing), OLAP (online analytical processing), modeling, content streaming, and high-volume data acquisition environments. Select 4Gb HBAs and switches by ATTO, Brocade, Emulex, and QLogic were tested and certified "FAST" by Texas Memory Systems under the program.
  • Finisar has expanded into the consumer market with a protocol analyzer—Bus Doctor RX—that supports the Consumer Electronics-Advanced Technology Attachment (CE-ATA) interface. CE-ATA is the next-generation interface for portable devices such as MP3 players, multimedia cell phones, digital cameras, etc. Bus Doctor RX also supports the ATA, Serial ATA (SATA), USB, and Compact Flash interfaces.
  • ONStor and 3PAR announced significant enhancements to UtiliCat, a unified storage offering that delivers consolidated SAN and NAS services. Enhancements include support for new 500GB Nearline drives and support for ONStor's new 2280 NAS Gateways.
