  • 3PAR has secured $30 million in equity financing. New investors include lead investor Integral Capital Partners, AllianceBernstein LP (formerly Alliance Capital), and Open Field Capital.
  • QLogic's 4Gb SANbox 5600 Series Fibre Channel stackable switches are now available directly from Sun Microsystems and authorized Sun distributors. The SANbox 5600 Series offers seamless scalability. Separately, QLogic's SANblade Pro 4Gb Fibre Channel HBAs are now available from Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd.K, and authorized Hitachi Data Systems resellers.
  • Sybase and Mendocino Software plan to integrate Sybase's high-performance database technologies, Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) and Sybase IQ, with Mendocino's flagship RecoveryONE solution, offering improved functionality to storage and database administrators.
  • Brocade's Tapestry Wide Area File Services (WAFS) is now integrated to support Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 R2.
  • Promise Technology's VTrak SATA RAID storage system has successfully completed compatibility testing and achieved Microsoft's Simple SAN for Windows Server designation.
  • LogLogic announced membership in the NetApp Partner Program to help customers satisfy security and compliance needs.
  • Meridian IT and Topio have launched Meridian PRIME, Meridian IT's pre-configured, extensible data-protection and recovery solution. PRIME is powered by RoadRunner, Topio's new disaster-recovery solution-in-a-box concept.
  • Decru, a NetApp company, has announced a partnership with Quantum. The reseller partnership will provide customers with strong storage security that can be integrated seamlessly into their new or existing backup infrastructures, without degrading performance or increasing backup windows.
  • WysDM Software and Avamar Technologies have entered into an OEM agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, Avamar will introduce Avamar Advanced Reporter into its disk-based data-protection platform. Separately, Avamar and TimeSpring Software have a technology alliance partnership whereby TimeSpring's TimeData continuous data protection (CDP) software and Avamar's Axion software will combine to protect, store, and rapidly recover Windows data.
  • Digi-Data and FalconStor have introduced the Consolidated VTL (virtual tape library), powered by FalconStor. Integrated into a 25U rack, all components for virtual tape and SATA disk connectivity are packaged into a pre-configured, tested solution. Sharing capacity and controller bandwidth between the virtual tape library application and other secondary storage applications is addressed with Digi-Data's clustered storage architecture, STORM--STorage On Redundant Modules.
  • Hosted Solutions, the Carolinas' data center and hosting company, has earned Gold Certified status in the Microsoft Partner Program with a Competency in Advanced Infrastructure Solutions.
