  • Rorke Data, a subsidiary of San Jose-based Bell Microproducts, and MRV Communications have signed a national distribution agreement for MRV's newest family of digital video fiber-optic transceivers, Digital Video SFPs (small-form-factor pluggable). The new Digital Video SFPs will enable postproduction facilities and rich media studios to transport uncompressed HD/DV-SDI video over standard fiber-optic networks.
  • Revivio plans to integrate IBM's Tivoli Continuous Data Protection for Files with its Continuous Protection System (CPS). The new combined offering will allow customers to extend the benefits of Revivio's CDP to data residing at remote office locations.
  • Pillar Data Systems announced agreements with Brocade and McData that allow Pillar to resell storage networking products from both vendors, ensuring seamless network interoperability with Pillar Axiom storage systems. Through these partnerships, Pillar customers can deploy end-to-end SANs that integrate Brocade and/or McData offerings from entry-level switches to enterprise directors and storage routers.
  • Silverback Systems received $16 million in funding from technology and venture firms to develop its iSNAP acceleration technology. Network Appliance has joined this round of funding. Current investors Excelsior, Gemini, Intel, Newbury, and Pitango are also articipating in this round.
  • Adva Optical Networking's FSP 2000 and FSP 3000 systems have been verified by Brocade as interoperable with Brocade-based SAN infrastructure, according to the testing requirements of the Brocade Fabric Aware Program, an end-to-end interoperability initiative for SANS. The program is a comprehensive testing and configuration initiative designed to foster SAN interoperability in multi-vendor Brocade-based SAN environments. ADVA also announced that its products have achieved Brocade's global "Fabric Aware" status.
  • Texas Memory Systems and Confio Software, an application performance management software company, have signed a partnership designed to help Oracle customers further improve application performance. Under the agreement, Confio Ignite software is now available for free download through the Texas Memory Systems Website at www.txmemsys.com/News/confio.htm.
  • Xyratex is shipping two new 4Gbps switched storage enclosures that have integrated the Emulex InSpeedT SOC 422 to provide embedded storage switching. The Xyratex 4835 and RS-1600-F4 SBODT (Switched Bunch of Disks) systems allow customers to take full advantage of the features provided by InSpeed.
