Copan Systems recently reached an agreement with GTSI, establishing GTSI as the company's first reseller partner focused exclusively on the government market space. GTSI will provide Copan's enhanced MAID products to deliver scalable, reliable, and responsive disk-based storage solutions for backup/restore, archive, and disaster-recovery applications to government customers.
IBM is adding three new Brocade storage network connectivity platforms to the IBM System Storage product portfolio. The three products to be offered are the SAN64B-2 switch (2005-B64) based on the Brocade SilkWorm 4900, the SAN18B-R router (2005-R18) based on the SilkWorm 7500, and the M48 FC Routing Blade for the SAN256B director (2109-M48) based on the SilkWorm FR4-18i Blade for the SilkWorm 48000 Director.
Open-E, a developer of NAS and iSCSI software, has entered into a distribution agreement with Condre Storage. Most recently, Open-E introduced its NAS-XSR software, which includes software RAID functionality (0, 1, 5, and 6).
Nimbus Data Systems' products will incorporate advanced SAS technology from LSI Logic. Nimbus solutions will use LSI SAS host bus adapters in its Breeze MX4 and 10G line of Unified IP Storage Systems as its expandable, high-performance SAS architecture.
Tandberg Data, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tandberg Data ASA, has signed a sales agreement with Bell Microproducts Canada to distribute Tandberg Data's StorageLoader, InteliStor, InteliNAS, and LTO tape drive product lines throughout Canada from Bell Microproducts offices in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver.
Arkivio and PTC System (PTC), a provider of integrated IT solutions in Singapore, announced that the Bioinformatics Institute (BII) has selected PTC services and Arkivio auto-stor ILM software for their data archival and HSM solution. The product will provide identification, monitoring, and placement of BII's data based on the classification of the data.
