  • ProStor Systems, a provider of removable disk storage solutions, and Tandberg Data have signed a non-exclusive licensing agreement that allows Tandberg to manufacture, market, distribute, and support ProStor Systems' new RDX removable disk cartridges and drives for the backup and disaster recovery of critical data for the small business market.
  • Maxxan Systems has joined the HP Developer and Solution Partner Program (DSPP) and will offer secure enterprise storage solutions with integrated components from both companies.
  • NeoPath Networks has secured $11 million in a round of funding that included participation by Cisco Systems and previous investors August Capital, DCM-Doll Capital Management, and Gabriel Venture Partners.
  • Intransa is teaming with Sonasoft to provide an advanced backup-and-recovery IP SAN solution. Intransa will be reselling Sonasoft's SonaSafe suite of software tools.
  • The Engenio Storage Group of LSI Logic has selected the Emulex InSpeed SOC 422 Embedded Storage Switch for integration into its new family of 4Gbps midrange storage systems.
    The SCSI Trade Association (STA), in conjunction with the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL), recently completed the sixth Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) "plugfest," which focused on large systems. Vendors participating in the plugfest included Adaptec, AIC, Catalyst, Emulex, Finisar, Fujitsu CPA, Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Intel, LeCroy, LSI Logic, Maxtor, PMC-Sierra, Promise Technology, Seagate, and Xtore.
  • Mendocino Software and Ontrack Data Recovery have an agreement to integrate Mendocino's RecoveryONE "infinite snapshot engine" technology with Ontrack PowerControls mailbox recovery software. The resulting product will be available through Mendocino in Q3 2006 and will give customers the ability to capture data without impacting Exchange environments, and the ability to recover Exchange to any desired previous point much more rapidly than is possible today. The Ontrack partnership is the fourth joint development deal Mendocino has struck with an enterprise software vendor since they initiated their strategic partnership program in the enterprise application area.
  • InMage Systems and Xiotech announced the industry's first application-level push-button recovery technology for mid-sized enterprises, according to company claims. Companies seeking a comprehensive data-protection solution that safeguards data across tiers will now benefit from a consolidated approach to data protection that features local and remote replication of both file and block data, application-level recovery, and enterprise backup. Separately, Xiotech has achieved Microsoft's Simple SAN for Windows Server designation.
  • Acronis has a distribution agreement with Tech Data to extend access of Acronis' corporate family of disaster-recovery and disk management software to Fortune 500 and small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
  • StoneFly, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynamic Network Factory (DNF), has a new strategy to provide OEM and embedded systems partners with access to its StoneFusion Intelligent Network Storage Platform (NSP), the company's IP-based block-level provisioning software that centralizes storage management, control, and monitoring of logical storage volumes for iSCSI SANs. StoneFly also introduced key enhancements to StoneFusion NSP in a new release that provides support for Multi-Path I/O (MPIO) features in Microsoft's iSCSI Initiator Versions 2.0 and 2.01 to deliver new levels of IP SAN fault tolerance.
