EMC recently acquired Newton, MA-based ProActivity Software Solutions Ltd., a privately held provider of content management software for business process management (BPM). ProActivity will be integrated immediately into the EMC Software Group. With its R&D operations in Netanya, Israel, ProActivity joins recently acquired Kashya and nLayers to form a foundation of EMC R&D in Israel.

LSI Logic’s Engenio 4Gbps Fibre Channel technology has been selected to power the next generation of data warehousing products offered by Teradata, a division of NCR.

Arkivio, Enigma Data Solutions Ltd., and Scentric have joined the Hitachi Data Systems independent software vendor (ISV) partner program.

Acopia Networks has secured $20 million in its latest round of funding. Meritech Capital Partners, a new investor in the company, led the round.

Marathon Technologies has signed a distribution agreement with Sky IT Group, a Premier IBM Business Partner. The alliance was facilitated through joint participation in Arrow Electronics’ Enterprise Computing Solutions Program. Under the terms of the agreement, Sky IT will offer Marathon’s everRun product line with IBM’s System x (xSeries) products.

AmeriVault has selected Asigra Televaulting as the software platform for its ServerVault online data backup service.

Revivio and Copan Systems have forged a technical alliance that will facilitate the delivery of integrated solutions.

Data Domain and Datalink have a new partnership agreement to provide Data Domain’s next-generation data-protection solutions to Datalink’s customers. Under the terms of the agreement, Datalink will add Data Domain’s DD400 Enterprise Series to its suite of storage offerings.

Emulex’s LightPulse 4Gbps LPe1105 Dual Channel HBA will enable SAN connectivity for the new HP BladeSystem c-Class. Separately, Emulex will provide Hewlett-Packard with a custom version of its FibreSpy Model 850 embedded storage switch for the HP Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA) family. The company also announced that Network Appliance has qualified and will resell Emulex’s family of LightPulse LP11000 4Gbps PCI-X HBAs.

KOM Networks and EqualLogic have deployed a joint Hard Disk Archiving (e-WORM) and iSCSI SAN data archival solution. The combined solution allows users to simplify the deployment and operation of consolidated storage and to take advantage of compliance-enabling features such as data authenticity and security.

EMC has qualified Emulex’s 4Gbps PCI-Express and PCI-X HBAs as compatible with the new Clariion CX3 UltraScale series of networked storage systems.

CA has acquired MDY Group International, a provider of enterprise records management software and services. CA will market and support the full suite of MDY products and services, which address all aspect of records management. CA also plans to integrate MDY’s records management technology with CA Message Manager to offer users a solution for managing e-mail and other business documents. CA did not disclose terms of the transaction.

ProStor Systems has secured $12.2 million in Series B financing, bringing the total funding to date to $18.6 million. Sutter Hill Ventures led the round, with New Enterprise Associates and Boulder Adventures also participating.

NeoPath Networks has received $11 million in a funding round that included participation by Cisco Systems and previous investors August Capital, DCM-Doll Capital Management, and Gabriel Venture Partners.

Raptor Networks Technology has completed certification of the GigaStorATX 10GbE from iStor Networks, which, in combination with Raptor’s “distributed core” 10GbE technology, provides a new generation of iSCSI IP SAN infrastructure solutions.

Riverbed Technology has signed a strategic OEM agreement with NEC whereby NEC will license and resell Riverbed’s wide-area data services (WDS) solution, the Riverbed Optimization System (RiOS). NEC will combine RiOS with its server product line and sell the offering under its new WanBooster product family name.

TimeSpring Software announced the availability of TimeData forMicrosoft Windows SharePoint Services-continuous data protection (CDP) software that allows SharePoint administrators to rapidly recover lost, corrupt, or deleted documents.

CA and Arkivio have an agreement whereby CA will incorporate the Arkivio auto-stor enterprise file management solution into its BrightStor product line.

Hitachi Data Systems is adding the Brocade SilkWorm 4900 SAN switch to its portfolio of networked storage solutions.

Double-Take Software has acquired its strategic partner, Sunbelt System Software, headquartered in Paris, with offices in the UK, Germany, Sweden, and Belgium.

Unsuccessful in its attempts to establish a reseller arrangement with an established vendor or be purchased, Kasten Chase, based in Mississauga, ON, Canada, has declared bankruptcy and is closing its doors.

ProStor Systems, a provider of removable disk storage solutions, and Tandberg Data have signed a non-exclusive licensing agreement that allows Tandberg to manufacture, market, distribute, and support ProStor Systems’ new RDX removable disk cartridges and drives for the backup and disaster recovery of critical data for the small business market.
