-- CA and NetApp announced an extension of their solutions partnership to develop management solutions for public and private cloud environments. As a result, the companies are integrating CA's virtualization, automation and service assurance offerings with NetApp's storage management solutions.

-- Emulex's OneConnect 10GbE adapters have been certified with VMware vSphere 4. The Ethernet adapters support VMware NetQueue, and can be field upgraded to support iSCSI and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE).

-- A partnership between Double-Take Software and RES Software allows end users to combine Double-Take's Flex software, which includes desktop virtualization functionality, with RES' PowerFuse User Workspace Management software to build secure, context-aware user workspaces. Double-Take is reselling RES' software in an integrated bundle.

-- The agent-less Asigra Cloud Backup platform has received FIPS 140-2 Level 1 certification (for cryptography) from the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) organization.

-- NEC has selected LSI's 6Gbps SAS MegaRAID controller cards for integration into the NEC Express5800 series servers. The four- and eight-port controllers provide internal or external storage connectivity.

-- Siemens Business Services has selected NTP Software's products, including QFS, for storage management in its hosted services environments.

-- Xsigo Systems Japan has partnered with Itochu Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC) and Hitachi to jointly offer I/O virtualization solutions to the Japanese market. The combined solution includes Hitachi storage and integrated system management software; the Xsigo I/O Director; and pre-configured templates that facilitate deployment in as little as half the time required for custom made systems.

-- Laurus Technologies has joined the EMC Velocity2 Partner Program to provide customers with data management, recovery, deduplication, and networked storage products.

-- Chelsio Communications announced its full line of 10GbE Unified Wire Ethernet adapters now supports Open-FCoE (Fibre Channel over Ethernet).
