  • Voltaire has entered into a global agreement with Sun Microsystems that brings Voltaire's products into Sun's portfolio of technologies for building integrated high-performance computing systems. Included in the terms of the agreement are Voltaire's InfiniBand and multi-service director-class switches, host channel adapters, and software, which Sun will use in pre-designed, factory-integrated solutions.
  • Storage Elements, a Minnesota-based software developer and hardware integrator, has adopted Exanet's scalable ExaStore system for its off-site data storage and remote backup services.
  • Symantec has signed a new interoperability agreement with Oracle providing for qualification of Veritas Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC synchronously with the release of new Oracle RAC offerings. The agreement governs the companies' joint engineering efforts around Veritas Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC on IBM AIX, HP-UX, and Sun Solaris.
  • Nexsan Technologies and Waterford Technologies, a provider of intelligent e-mail archiving solutions, have an integrated solution for e-mail and file archiving that features Nexsan's Assureon Secure Storage Appliance and Waterford Technologies' MailMeter Archive. With the announcement, Waterford Technologies becomes the latest member of Nexsan's Strategic Solutions (S2) Program.
  • Sony Electronics has recently made a strategic investment in Maximum Throughput. This investment has been accompanied by additional funding from the company's current investors.
  • Adaptec's Serial ATA 1220SA and 1430SA HostRAID controllers support Intel's latest PCIe interconnect.
  • PowerFile Inc., a maker of archive appliances for permanent storage of digital content and assets, introduced its VARchive Reseller Program that enables partners with the ability to better meet end-user demand for fixed content active archival storage solutions, especially in ECM/document management, e-mail, medical, CAD and print/graphics. The program includes company-sponsored initiatives such as SPIFF and rebate incentives, access to marketing programs and lead generation tools, technical training and education.
  • Attune Systems has secured $14 million in a new venture funding round led by RWI Ventures. Participation in this round also included GF Private Equity Group, LLC, as a new investor, and existing investors Alloy Ventures, QTV Capital, Rock Creek Capital, and Shea Ventures.
  • SteelEye Technology has joined the XenSource Partner Program as a charter member and Premier Partner.
