  • Hitachi Data Systems is making a private equity investment in BlueArc and has signed a five-year OEM agreement to use BlueArc's file-based virtualization technology in the Hitachi high-performance NAS platform.
  • ONStorand SGI Japan have a multi-year reseller agreement whereby ONStor will serve as the exclusive NAS supplier to SGI Japan, which, in turn, will offer ONStor Bobcat NAS Gateways and Pantera Clustered NAS systems to the Japanese market.
  • 3PAR and PolyServe have an integrated utility computing platform for database and enterprise file serving environments.   • Riverbed Technology has a cooperative support agreement with Network Appliance to help customers protect their distributed data and take advantage of heterogeneous data centers. The cooperative support processes for Riverbed's wide-area data services (WDS) solutions with NetApp unified storage systems, NetApp NearStore nearline storage systems, and NetApp V-Series virtualization systems address customer challenges with the replication, backup, and consolidation of distributed data.
  • Emulex and Brocade Communications Systems are each providing products to the new InstaSAN Connectivity Kits for the EMC Clariion AX150 networked storage system for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
  • QStar Technologies has joined the HP Tape Automation Compatibility (TAC) Partner Program and is now certified on the entire HP tape automation product line for both QStar HSM and QStar Data Director.
  • Plasmon has announced a new "Try it! Buy it!" channel program for its Raidtec Solutions RAID storage products. The program makes the Raidtec products available to end users on a free 30-day trial. If customers are not 100% satisfied with a product's performance in their environment, the product can be returned to Plasmon at no cost.
  • StoreVault, a NetApp division, has a distributor relationship with Hammer to deliver StoreVault storage solutions to the SMB market in the UK. Separately, StoreVault is now offering a Fibre Channel Starter Kit that includes QLogic SANbox 4Gbps switches and SANblade 4Gbps and 2Gbps HBAs from QLogic.
  • Russia Today TV, Russia 's only global, foreign-language, 24x7 news broadcaster, has selected Exanet as its sole storage provider.
