  • Hitachi Data Systems has signed a global agreement to resell Onaro's SANscreen storage management software. Under the terms of the agreement, Hitachi will market, sell, and provide support for SANscreen customers. Separately, Hitachi has a reseller partnership with communications technology company, Smartways, to provide online backup and storage solutions to small and medium-sized customers.
  • Acopia Networks' ARX systems have successfully completed interoperability testing with IBM's Systems Storage N-Series products and have been confirmed as IBM System Storage Proven. Separately, Acopia has joined the initiative at The University of California's Information Storage Industry Center (ISIC) to help further's mission to educate data storage technology users.
  • Bell Micro has signed a distribution agreement with Chelsio Communications to sell 10 Gigabit Ethernet storage accelerators.
  • Hitachi, Samsung, Seagate Technology, and Toshiba have formed the Hybrid Storage Alliance. The goals of the industry group are to illustrate how flash memory/hard drive hybrid technology can extend the capabilities of today's notebook computers and to accelerate market adoption of the technology.
  • Samsung has chosen Agere Systems' TrueONE home solutions to develop its home media server and gateway for mobile and broadband network service providers.
  • KODAK Service & Support, Eastman Kodak Co.'s worldwide service organization, will serve as the sole on-site service provider for Digi-Data Corporation. One year of KODAK Service & Support will come with Digi-Data storage products. Coverage will include the T-2000 clustered storage system and the company's newest line of clustered RAID controllers, the T-3000 Controller family, launched during the third quarter of 2006.
  • Sonasoft has a distribution agreement with SYNNEX, a global IT supply chain services company, for distributing Sonasoft products in the US, Canada, and Mexico. SYNNEX will distribute Sonasoft's Point-Click Recovery software for Microsoft Exchange, SQL, and Windows File Systems.
  • Infortrend's EonStor S12F-G1420 4Gb Fibre Channel to Serial Attached SCSI (FC-4G-to-SAS), single controller RAID subsystem has passed qualification testing with the SD|Greed, HD|Lust, and HD|Fury video I/O cards from Bluefish444, a division of Bluefish Technologies Pty. Ltd. The ES S12F is certified for use in broadcast-quality applications such as postproduction, HDTV, 2K film, digital cinema, nearline digital content, and broadcast server archives.
  • InTechnology, an IT infrastructure managed services provider in the UK, is converting its VBAK automated off-site backup-and-recovery service to an enhanced data-protection platform powered by EVault software.
  • Cloverleaf will be showcasing its Intelligent Storage Networking (iSN) management system during Apple's Executive Session at this week's Macworld Conference & Expo. With general availability of the Cloverleaf Management Console (CMS) ported to the Mac OS X, Cloverleaf's iSN provides new strategic services for simplified and heterogeneous storage network management.
