  • Sepaton has opened its first international office located in Beijing, China, and unveiled its plan to open an office in London this quarter. The new office serves the company's growing Asia-Pacific customer base.
      Designed in collaboration with Data Direct Networks (DDN), IBM has announced the DCS9550 disk system for high-performance computing (HPC) environments. The DCS9550 scales up to 96TB with Fibre Channel disk drives or up to 160TB with SATA drives. The companies claim throughput of up to 3GBps on both read and write operations in full-duplex host transfers. The SAN array also features RAID 6 for protection against the simultaneous failure of two drives in the same redundancy group. General availability is slated for July.
    • ExaGrid Systems' Disk-based Backup system now supports EMC NetWorker software.
    • Wilmington, DE-based doeLegal LLC has chosen Reldata's 9240 Unified Storage Gateway appliance, combined with Infortrend RAID 6 arrays, to extend its EMC storage.
    • Revinetix has released a White Paper on data storage protection and disaster recovery, entitled "Migrating from Tape to Disk Backups." Targeting SMB IT decision-makers, the White Paper encourages computer network administrators to move to new disk-based data-protection technologies to overcome the deficiencies of legacy tape backup solutions and to effectively address the challenges of deploying a fast, user-friendly, reliable, secure, cost-effective, and scalable backup strategy.
