Xiotech has acquired Seagate Technology’s Advanced Storage Architecture (ASA) group. Xiotech purchased certain assets of the ASA business and acquired a license to the associated technology.

QLogic’s SANbox 6140 intelligent storage routers and SANbox 5600Q series of Fibre Channel switches are now available from Hitachi Data Systems and its resellers.

CommVault has signed a distribution agreement in New Zealand with Value Added Distributors Ltd. (VAD).

JMR Electronics has a reseller deal with ASI whereby ASI will distribute JMR’s BlueStor line of storage subsystems. JMR also announced compatibility between its BlueStor systems and PCIe RAID controllers from LSI, including the MegaRAID 8308ELP, 8344ELP, and 888ELP.

Dot Hill Systems has chosen PMC-Sierra’s maxSAS SAS/ SATA chipset for its 2730, 2730 Turbo, and 5730 disk subsystems.

J4 Systems, a VAR based in Rocklin, CA, has become a DataCore Software Authorized Business Partner.

Onaro has completed the integration of its storage service management (SSM) solutions with BMC Service Automation, an extension of the BMC Business Service Management approach to optimizing IT’s responsiveness to business needs.

Emulex’s LightPulse Virtual Host Bus Adapter (HBA) technology is now available for Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2007, providing industry-standard N-Port ID Virtualization (NPIV) support for Windows Server virtualization environments. Separately, Emulex announced that its LightPulse Fibre Channel HBAs are supported with the new Oracle VM server virtualization software.

FalconStor Software has entered into an OEM agreement with Inspur Group, a server manufacturer and solution provider in China. Inspur will leverage FalconStor’s VirtualTape Library technology. Separately, Falcon- Stor announced that it has tested all of its VirtualTape Library solutions with Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2007.
