  • This week, Intel released a software initiator package to drive the development of Fibre Cannel over Ethernet (FCoE) solutions for Linux. The software is available for download at and includes a target simulator that developers can use to test and modify the FCoE software stack. FCoE is an evolving standard that will allow Fibre Channel SAN traffic to run over Ethernet.
  • UbiStor, an information technology data backup and disaster recovery service provider and N-1 Technologies, an information technology lifecycle management provider, have combined forces under a joint venture agreement. The new entity, Services Capital LLC, will offer online data backup-and-recovery protection as well as IT asset lifecycle management services.
  • ATTO Technology's Celerity 4-Gigabit Fibre Channel host adapters have been qualified for use with HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Arrays (EVAs) as a high-availability Enterprise storage solution for the Mac market.
  • LeftHand Networks' SAN/iQ clustered storage software for iSCSI SANs now supports the Dell PowerEdge 2950 server, in addition to servers from Hewlett-Packard and IBM.
  • Kazeon Systems and Fujitsu Siemens Computers are integrating Kazeon's Information Server software with Fujitsu's PRIMERGY server product line.
  • Alert Logic, which manufactures on-demand IT compliance and security solutions, has chosen 3PAR Utility Storage to consolidate and scale its mission-critical hosted software-as-a-service (SaaS) environment.
