Gartner recently positioned Expand Networks in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2007 report for WAN controllers. Expand accelerates solutions over a wide area network (WAN). Gartner reviewed more than a dozen vendors in this report and based the evaluation according to criteria which focuses on the completeness of vision and ability to execute.
Hitachi Ltd. is denying media reports that it is in talks to sell part or all of its hard disk drive business, which includes a facility in Rochester with about 200 employees. The news service Reuters released a story out of Tokyo Friday saying Hitachi is considering selling a stake in its disk-drive operation to a private equity firm to help turn the unprofitable business around. The story attributed the information to unnamed "sources familiar with the situation."
Google received US approval last week when federal regulators approved its $3.1 billion acquisition of online advertising company DoubleClick.
