  • Hifn has released a performance-optimized version of its Swarm iSCSI storage appliances for VMware ESX Server environments that is based on QLogic's iSCSI host bus adapters. The Swarm VMware Edition Model 3200 is configured with 7.5TB of capacity.
  • Through January 31, Open-E is offering a free download of its Data Storage Server (DSS) Lite software for Windows and Linux platforms. The software, which is downloadable from Open-E's Website, provides centralized IP storage management and combines NAS and iSCSI functionality. The software can be used to manage up to 2TB.
  • InMage Systems and Mainline Information Systems, an IBM. Premier Business Partner, have signed a strategic agreement to bring InMage's flagship DR-Scout to Mainline's customers. The channel partnership addresses mid-sized and enterprise customer demand for scalable, heterogeneous disaster-recovery solutions.
  • Sonasoft has signed a partnership agreement with Bangalore, India-based Integra Micro Systems to ramp up its product development efforts.
  • Reldata has named David Hubbard as president and CEO, and Jeff Helthall as VP of sales. Helthall's 20 years of experience includes positions at Tacit Networks, CrosStor Software, NetPower, Verbex, and Convergent Technologies. Hubbard joined Reldata as COO in February 2007. His 25-year career includes senior executive roles at QLogic, Inrange/Computerm, Computer Network Technology, and DEC.
  • CopperEye announced that Allen Swann has been named the company's chairman of the board. He has more than 30 years' experience in the management of enterprise software companies, including Manpower Software PLC, Chordiant Software, Oracle UK, and Prime Response Ltd.
  • BakBone Software has appointed Andrew Brewerton as technical director for EMEA. With 17 years' experience in storage and systems management, he began his IT career as a software developer and had been associated with Otium Software, Brocade, BMC Software, and Veritas (now Symantec).
