  • Technologies AG entered into a definitive agreement, under which LSI will acquire Infineon's hard disk drive (HDD) business. Under the terms of the agreement, LSI will purchase the Infineon HDD business, which designs, manufactures, and markets semiconductors for HDD devices. The transaction does not comprise significant assets and transfer of employees. Financial details were not disclosed.
  • Panasas, Inc., a vendor that provides solutions for the high performance computing (HPC) market, has forged a strategic alliance with computer aided engineering (CAE) manufacturer CD-adapco. Recent certification includes CD-adapco's STAR-CD and STAR-CCM+ computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software with Panasas ActiveStor parallel storage.


  • FalconStor Software's suite of Windows-based data-protection and disaster-recovery options has earned Windows Server 2008 software certification. All FalconStor products are deployed on the FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS), powered by FalconStor IPStor software, to strengthen its storage capacity.
  • QLogic announced availability of its Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) for Microsoft Windows Server 2008, which was recently launched worldwide.
  • Emulex's LightPulse Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter family is supported and available for the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 environments.
  • CipherMax's CM140T tape storage encryption product has successfully completed interoperability testing with IBM's System Storage TS3200 tape library product equipped with both LTO-3 and LTO-4 tape drives and has been confirmed as IBM System Storage Proven.
  • iStor Networks' integraStor iS325 series storage array has been qualified with VMware ESX Server 3.
  • HighPoint Technologies has formed an alliance with Open-E that will integrate the RocketRAID series of SATA RAID controllers with Open-E's NAS, iSCSI, and storage server system software.
  • 3PAR has signed a reseller agreement with AntemetA, a systems integrator in France and Luxembourg specialised in enterprise storage. In Europe, 3PAR is now present either directly or through its partner network in the following countries: United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Poland, and Luxembourg.
  • Front Porch Digital has appointed Paul Jones as regional sales manager. He spent 17 years in the broadcast industry, serving distribution channels and high-technology broadcast equipment in both established markets and in developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region. His most recent positions, both based in Asia, were in sales management for Ross Video and earlier for OmniBus Systems.
