  • Fusion-io is working with Hewlett-Packard to accelerate enterprise server application performance using its I/O storage technology. The two companies are adapting Fusion-io's ioMemory architecture to HP's enterprise-class servers, including the HP BladeSystem c-Class system.
  • Emulex's LightPulse 8Gbps Fibre Channel HBAs are now supported in the HP ProLiant rack-, tower-, and blade-based server portfolio running Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and Linux operating systems.
  • Bosch Security Systems and NetApp have formed a partnership whereby Bosch will sell and support co-branded NetApp storage devices as part of its closed-circuit television (CCTV) portfolio.
  • QLogic announced certification of its 2500 Series 8Gb Fibre Channel HBAs with the newly announced Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2, which reportedly provides improved virtualization capabilities based on Xen Hypervisor. Separately, QLogic has announced volume shipments of the 7200 series of InfiniBand host channel adapters (HCAs), which are based on the company's TrueScale ASIC. Double Data Rate (DDR) versions are available now, with Quad Data Rate (QDR) version expected by year-end. QLogic will compete primarily with Mellanoxin the InfiniBand HCA market.
  • NEC Corporation of Ameica has signed a reseller deal with Synnex that encompasses all of NEC's IT products, including the Express5800 and Series3800 family of servers; D-Series storage arrays and software; and ExpressCluster high availability and disaster-recovery software.
  • Atto Technology's Celerity 4-Gigabit Fibre Channel host adapters have been qualified for use with IBM SAN Volume Controller (SVC) as a high-capacity enterprise-class storage virtualization solution for the Mac market.
  • Voltaire has announced compatibility of its 20Gbps Grid Director InfiniBand switches with LSI's recently introduced Engenio 7900 HPC storage system. Voltaire also announced that it is collaborating with DataDirect Networks on InfiniBand-based storage solutions. The companies recently completed cross-certification testing of Voltaire's Grid Director switches with DataDirect's S2A9900 StorageScaler systems.
  • Spare Backup, a provider of automated, online backup applications for home users and small businesses, announced that its flagship application, Spare Backup, is now being bundled on all Sony VAIO PCs shipped to retail. This totally automated online backup service selects, secures, and stores files without any user intervention.
