-- Emulex announced that its FCoE CNAs are supported in the Microsoft System Center suite, including Operations Manager 2007 R2 and the PRO feature of Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2. Emulex also announced a PRO-enabled Management Pack that monitors incoming and outgoing I/O traffic across its HBAs and CNAs.

-- Seagate Technology is now shipping a "power-thrifty" desktop hard drive family that uses as much as 50% less electricity than standard desktop hard drives. The new line of Seagate Barracuda LP (Low Power) hard drives are available in a 3.5-inch form factor at speeds of 5900RPM and capacities of 2TB, 1.5TB and 1TB.

-- Numonyx B.V. and Ovonyx have entered into a license agreement for memory products under Ovonyx' patents and intellectual property relating to phase change memory (PCM) technology.  PCM is considered by some to be an alternative to Flash and DRAM for emerging generations of commercial, high-volume semiconductor memory.

-- Pillar Data Systems is introducing new programs and offerings for channel partners. Through the company's new incentive-laden Emerald Program, Pillar partners will be able to increase sales and margins across the board. Pillar is minimizing the number of authorized resellers per region to mitigate competition among registered Pillar partners.
