-- FalconStor Software has entered into a limited procurement agreement with Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), under which HDS will resell FalconStor Virtual Tape Library (VTL) with data deduplication and FalconStor File-interface Deduplication System (FDS) integrated with the Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage 2000 family on a limited basis.

-- Trend Micro announced a definitive agreement to purchase online storage and data synchronization company Humyo, based in Leeds, UK. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Humyo acquisition will allow Trend Micro to offer consumers and small businesses secure online backup and recovery.

-- Fujitsu has selected Emulex's OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs) for 10GbE and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) connectivity in Fujitsu's Primergy rack servers. The UCNAs will be part of Fujitsu's Dynamic Infrastructure portfolio.

-- Consonus announced support for Asigra Cloud Backup v10. Consonus will leverage the Asigra platform as the foundation of Consonus Remote Backup Service (Consonus RBS). Consonus RBS is a cloud-based alternative to traditional backup, replacing conventional systems with an automated, disk-based online solution.

-- OCZ Technology Group unveiled the Vertex 2 Pro and Vertex 2 EX Solid State Drive (SSD) Series, 2.5-inch enterprise drives. Built with the latest SandForce SF-1500 SSD processors, the Vertex 2 Pro is a Multi-Level Cell (MLC) solution that features transfer rates up to 285MBps read, 275MBps write, and 4KB random writes up to 50,000 Input/Output per second (IOPS). The Vertex 2 EX uses Single-Level Cell (SLC) memory, which has ten times the program/erase (P/E) cycles with the same performance as the Pro edition. OCZ will also make a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) version available. Available in 50GB, 100GB, and 200GB capacities, the SSDs feature a 10 million mean time between failures (MTBF) rating.

-- Syncsort has joined the LSI alliance partner program as a developer partner. Syncsort will work with LSI to provide interoperability between the Syncsort BEX data protection solution and OEM storage systems based on LSI Engenio disk array technology.

-- i365, a Seagate company, announced a distribution agreement with Hammer, a storage-focused European distributor. The deal covers all of i365's cloud storage products, including EVault for DPM, EVault Software, and EVault Plug-n-Protect appliances.
