DataDirect builds soup-to-nuts SAN

DataDirect Networks is taking aim at image-intensive applications with a new architecture dubbed Concurrent Data Networking Architecture (CDNA). Essentially a Fibre Channel-based storage area network (SAN), CDNA provides data sharing across Unix, Windows NT, and Mac OS platforms.

The RAID-based CDNA encompasses a number of building blocks, including DataDirect, Cross Platform File System, Concurrent DataSharing, Common Data Interface middleware, and CDNAware Integrated SAN Resource Management software, which provides backup, data recovery, and hierarchical storage management (HSM). The architecture also includes network-attached controllers. www.datadirectnet.com.
