Late last month, Quantum Corporation announced plans to acquire tape-library manufacturer ATL Products for $300 million. The all-stock transaction is expected to be completed in September. Quantum has also inked a supply agreement with Exabyte in which Quantum will supply and support its DLT tape drives for inclusion into Exabyte?s DLT tape libraries and the new Arrowhead line of DLT libraries. Arrowhead products will use Quantum?s DLT4000 and 7000 drives. IBM also recently selected Quantum?s DLT4000 tape drives for its Netfinity server product line.
