MI extends SCSI for clusters

American Megatrends Inc. (AMI) last month introduced the MegaRAID Cluster Enabler Bus Extender, which increases SCSI cable lengths to 20 meters. The expansion is possible by electrically isolating both the external and internal SCSI buses. The bus extender can operate in synchronous or asynchronous transfer mode, with internal or external mounting capabilities. Based on a Symbios 120 chip, the 2.5-inch x 4-inch extender provides device status and SCSI activity information via four LEDs.
