Last month Legato Systems began offering its new Managed Backup and Recovery Service (MBRS), using StorageTek as its outsourcing service provider. MBRS is an enterprise-wide program designed to protect corporate data. August also marked the beginning of Legato?s new North American reseller agreement with Hewlett-Packard. Under the agreement, HP?s local product organization will resell all versions of Legato?s NetWorker as well as related product, maintenance, and support service options. The NetWorker for Windows NT 5.1 version has been authorized by Microsoft to be sold with their "Designed for Microsoft BackOffice" logo. Legato also launched its OpenGEMS Development Partner Program. The program includes development partners supporting Legato?s GEMS open architecture by integrating applications to its interface. Early program members include NSI Software, Qualix Group, pectra Logic, and Stac.
