Stor debuts desktop Fibre Channel array

Continuing to add to its CR8 line of RAID arrays, nStor has begun shipping the CR8DF, which incorporates Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop (FC-AL) connectivity in a JBOD configuration. The company is targeting applications such as video, multimedia, publishing, imaging, and broadcasting. The subsystem supports up to eight 9GB or 18GB disk drives, for up to 144GB per enclosure, or as much as 2TB at 126 devices per Fibre Channel loop. Copper cable lengths are 30 meters; with fiber optics, 10 kilometers. Pricing starts at $2,365. Optional Fibre Channel dual-ported drives cost $1,475.
