Consolidating areas after its August acquisition of Symbios and citing a slump in the semiconductor industry, LSI Logic announced last month that it will lay off 1,200 employees. The cutbacks will be seen at in its Milpitas, CA, headquarters as well as facilities in Colorado and Japan.
