-- Infortrend's EonStor DS line of FC-to-SAS/SATA disk arrays has been qualified as VMware Ready. VMware certified 18 models in the EonStor family.

-- NextIO has entered into an OEM agreement with Fusion-io under which NextIO will add Fusion-io's flash-based ioMemory technology to its vSTOR application acceleration appliance and vConnect I/O virtualization technology.

-- Voltaire plans to resell QLogic's QDR InfiniBand host channel adapters (HCAs). QLogic's 7300 series HCAs have been qualified with Voltaire's Grid Director line of QDR InfiniBand switches. The HCAs will be available from Voltaire "early in the third quarter."

-- Front Porch Digital announced an agreement whereby its DIVArchive content storage management (CSM) solutions will be sold in the Americas through Grass Valley. The agreement in effect makes Grass Valley both a Front Porch Digital reseller and a technology partner, expanding a relationship the companies whose technologies are already integrated.

-- 3PAR announced support for Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization for Servers, a server virtualization solution that includes a standalone Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) hypervisor and server management tools. With this announcement, 3PAR InServ Storage Server customers can choose the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor to build and deploy a virtualization environment on a scale necessary for public or private cloud datacenters.

-- OCZ Technology Group introduced new high-capacity Vertex 2 and Agility 2 SATA II 2.5" solid state drives (SSDs). The OCZ portfolio now includes 400GB and 480GB models. Both Vertex 2 and Agility 2 400GB editions feature 250MBps read and 240MBps write speeds, with higher 4,000 random writes up to 22,500IOPS on the Vertex 2 Series.

-- Sonian announced new capabilities for its cloud archiving service. The new functionality includes archiving of social media and instant messaging (IM) communications. This allows compliance with regulatory mandates such as FINRA and FRCP, including the new FINRA regulation governing social media use, enacted in early 2010, according to the company. Sonian’s hosted e-mail archiving solution supports Microsoft Exchange, Novell GroupWise and IBM Lotus Notes, along with Web-based email applications.

-- Violin Memory announced the availability of the Violin Memory 3200 Flash Memory Array. The Violin 3200 is a modular 3U memory array that scales from 500GB to 10TB of SLC NAND Flash. The Violin 3200 is the first in the Violin 3000 series of Memory Arrays that scales to more than 140TB in one rack with performance over 3 million IOPS.  The Violin 3200 includes hardware-based flash RAID across hot-swappable memory modules to provide spike free latency of less than 100 microseconds.
