Astrum enters storage management arena

Startup Astrum Software (Boston) recently entered the Windows management market with the StorCast storage asset management tool, which works with Windows NT, 98, and 95. The software allows administrators to monitor and control storage consumption and to manage performance and asset trend information. StorCast captures and reports on more than 50 system data points for asset trend data, including processor, memory, and file-system utilization data that can be used for resource and capacity planning. The software is priced on a per-platform basis: $149 for a single-system license for Windows 95 or 98; $395 for Windows NT Workstation; and $995 for Windows NT Server.
