Last month, Amdahl continued its move into the open-systems market, signing a reseller pact with Network Appliance. Under the terms of the agreement, Amdahl will resell the NetApp F700 network-attached filer as well as the Snapshot, SnapMirror, and SnapRestore backup and disaster recovery suites. Earlier in the month, Sterling Software signed up Amdahl as a reseller of its SAMS storage management software suite. Amdahl will also use SAMS in its consulting services. Amdahl also announced support for Linux on its LVS 4600 and 4800 storage subsystems.
