CMD demos Ultra 160 SCSI/FC controllers

CMD Technology plans to begin production shipments of its CRD-7240 RAID controller in March, with volume shipments scheduled for April. Demonstrated at this month`s Comdex, the dual-redundant 7240 combines Ultra 160 SCSI and Fibre Channel interfaces, and is based on the company`s Titan architecture.

Features include LUN masking (or mapping) for heterogeneous shared-storage applications, automatic failover and failback, and online RAID level migration and firmware updates. Specs include two Fibre Channel host interfaces, four Ultra 160 SCSI LVD interfaces, up to 1GB of cache, and support for as many as 56 disk drives. The CRD-7240 comes in a full-height 5.25-inch canister or as a board-level product for OEMs. Pricing has not been determined.
