nStor releases SAN management upgrade

nStor is now shipping AdminiStor 5.0, a SAN management software package it demonstrated at Comdex last month. The suite contains a set of tools to help configure, manage, and monitor nStor arrays, as well as RAID devices acquired from its recent merger with Andataco. The 5.0 release is SNMP-compliant, enabling administrators to plug AdminiStor into Tivoli TME, CA Unicenter TNG, and HP OpenView management consoles. Its DataTap capability builds and maintains a database holding information such as drive serial numbers, events and agent/manager IP addresses. The Multi-Manager Deployment feature allows Unix and NT agents to communicate with multiple data managers distributed over a WAN to provide open communications, even during network congestion or when a server is taken offline. AdminiStor 5.0 contains a Java-based agent and manager, accessible over the Internet or WAN, that runs on NT, Solaris and IRIX platforms.
