-- Dell has selected Emulex's OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs) for 10Gbps iSCSI and FCoE connectivity on Dell's PowerEdge rack and blade servers and all of its iSCSI and Fibre Channel storage systems.

-- 3PAR announced 3PAR Virtual Lock, an optional, array-based software product that gives 3PAR InServ Storage Server users the ability to protect data volumes and volume copies from intentional or unintentional deletions. The reservationless, non-duplicative, read-only virtual copies (snapshots) supported by Virtual Lock give users the ability to retain frozen, point-in-time copies of data for governance and eDiscovery.

-- ExaGrid Systems' disk-based backup appliances with data deduplication now support HP's Data Protector backup software. The company claims the combination of ExaGrid's disk-based backup appliance with HP Data Protector backup can shrink backup windows, improve recovery times and protect more data on disk. ExaGrid's support for HP Data Protector 6.11 will be available early in Q3 2010.

-- Silver Peak Systems announced that the company's NX series appliances and Global Management System (GMS) are available through Hitachi Data Systems (HDS). The Silver Peak appliances increase the amount of data that can be moved via HDS' NAS and SAN replication products through a variety of WAN optimization techniques.

-- EMC has added Informatica's Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) and Master Data Management (MDM) solutions to the EMC Select program. EMC will resell Informatica's ILM and MDM products and services.

-- Azaleos, which focuses on managed messaging and collaboration services, has expanded its partnership with EMC. Azaleos extended its ViewX monitoring system to provide troubleshooting of Clariion AX and CX arrays in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 environments. ViewX can also be used to manage Microsoft Exchange Server and Clariion arrays.

-- In an effort to extend its channel presence, SGI has expanded its OEM reseller partnership with LSI to include entry-level and midrange disk arrays spanning iSCSI, Fibre Channel, SAS and InfiniBand connectivity. New models include the SGI InfiniteStorage 220-SP (now available with iSCSI), 4100-SP and 4600-SP. SGI also re-launched its channel program.

-- PMC-Sierra's maxRAID BR5225-80 RAID adapter is the result of a joint development agreement with IBM. The adapter combines PMC's SRC 8x6G RAID-on-Chip controller with IBM's RAID stack. The BR5225-80 connects PCIe 2.0 to eight 6Gbps SAS/SATA ports. The adapter is optimized for solid-state disk (SSD) drives.

-- Pillar Data Systems' Axiom Array now supports Citrix StorageLink technology for virtual infrastructure management. Citrix XenServer 5.6 provides multi-path support natively for Pillar Axiom Arrays for XenServer hosts. The XenServer Profile is a drop-and-click priority policy that maximizes Axiom resource utilization, enabling storage and performance services matched to each application transaction's business importance.

-- Storage management software maker Open-E announced that its Open-E DSS V6 (Data Storage Software V6) has achieved VMware Ready status. DSS V6 is now listed on the VMware Hardware Compatibility List.
