-- Overland Storage is shipping the first models in a new line of NEO Series automated tape libraries. The new NEO 2000E and NEO 4000E tape backup and archive systems feature embedded SCSI, Fibre Channel and SAS connectivity. Additionally, the NEO E-Series integrates with Overland's REO Series of disk-based backup and recovery VTLs, Snap Server NAS appliances, ULTAMUS RAID SAN storage as well as other disk-based products. Both tape library models are available now from Overland's channel partners with a starting price of $12,333.

-- NTP Software has released User-Driven Archiving (UDA) software that links the company's QFS software with Symantec's Enterprise Vault email, file and content archiving platform. QFS provides policy-based control of unstructured data.

-- Chelsio Communications, a provider of 10GbE adapters and ASICs, announced its 100th platform win: Rackable Systems now includes Chelsio's full line of 10GbE Unified Wire adapters for its servers and storage systems.

-- Avid has qualified Chelsio's 10GbE Unified Wire adapters for use with  Avid's Unity ISIS v2.0 storage systems, which are used primarily in broadcast and post-production facilities to enable multi-user access to digital media files in real time.

-- DataCore Software announced that its SANmelody and SANsymphony storage virtualization software products are now VMware Ready Certified.

-- LaserVault Backup has completed the certification process for use with Data Domain's Restorer in-process data de-duplication systems. LaserVault Backup is a disk-to-disk backup system that runs on a System I (AS/400) host and a Windows PC server to replace tape backup. It uses IBM's backup commands, modified to send the backups over TCP/IP. With Data Domain's de-duplication server, the company claims de-duplication ratios of up to 50:1, depending on the type of backup and underlying data.
