-- EMC is now offering consulting, implementation, education and managed services aimed at business continuity in VMware environments. As part of the services offering, EMC Global Services will integrate VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager into customers' EMC business continuity environment to automate recovery of virtual environments.

-- CommVault's partnership with McAfee has born fruit. The companies announced the availability of integrated data and security management features utilizing their respective data management, backup and security products. CommVault's Simpana enterprise data management software suite has been integrated with McAfee's ePolicy Orchestrator (ePOTM) centralized management platform. Using a built-in connector from CommVault, event information related to backup status can be shared within a custom McAfee ePO dashboard to monitor multiple systems at the same time.

-- Cloud storage startup ParaScale and open source enterprise content management (ECM) software maker Alfresco Software announced a cloud-based integrated ECM system co-locating Alfresco Content Management and ParaScale Cloud Storage software on the same hardware. Customers can download a free 4TB cloud from the ParaScale website and integrate the free 30-day Alfresco Enterprise trial software with the cloud.

-- Mezeo Software announced that NaviSite, a provider of enterprise hosting and application services, has selected the Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform to power its cloud storage services.

-- Kroll Ontrack announced data recovery capabilities for Apple's Xsan 2 clustered file system for Mac OS X. As a result, Ontrack Data Recovery specialists can now recover data from an Xsan server that has encountered a volume corruption.

-- NextIO and Marvell, a maker of PCIe-based storage products, announced a collaboration to provide a PCIe-based flash storage solution in the NextIO PCIe system. NextIO's technologies include I/O virtualization that enables the pooling and sharing of server resources, a mixture of high-performance SSDs, as well as other standard PCIe-based I/O such as GPUs. The PCIe-based flash storage system from NextIO currently runs on standard Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as any application.
