EMC, Cisco tap Capellas as Acadia CEO

– EMC and Cisco have appointed Michael Capellas as CEO of their joint Acadia organization, which also involves VMware and is centered around the trio's Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) coalition.

As reported on Enterprise Storage Forum, Acadia was set up to sell and support Vblock systems that include networking gear from Cisco (the Unified Computing System, or UCS), EMC's storage systems and security technology, and VMware's virtual server software.

Capellas will report to EMC CEO Joe Tucci and Cisco CEO John Chambers. Capellas is on Cisco's board, and previously held positions at Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, MCI and First Data Corp.
