-- QLogic's 8100 Series Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) CNAs are now EMC E-Lab Qualified with EMC Symmetrix V-Max, Symmetrix DMX and Clariion CX4 networked storage systems and the EMC Celerra NS line of unified storage systems. They are also now available from EMC through the EMC Select program.

-- Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) announced that it will resell and co-brand InMage's Appshot technology for replication, data protection and application recovery.

-- DataCore Software is now supporting native Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) connectivity for its SANmelody and SANsymphony storage virtualization products. The company has added the Emulex and Brocade FCoE converged network adapters (CNAs) and Cisco Nexus 5000 Series switches to its FCoE-qualified support list. Additional FCoE CNAs will be announced over the next year. FCoE software drivers are currently available for Microsoft Windows and VMware ESX / vSphere.

-- Virtual infrastructure management provider Akorri announced a cooperative marketing and sales support agreement with 3PAR, and compatibility with 3PAR's InServ Storage Server series of disk arrays. Akorri also announced its new PartnerPoint Channel Program. 

-- 3PAR's partner DataPipe is now offering virtual private array (VPA) and disaster recovery services as part of their Stratosphere cloud services. DataPipe is the first member of the 3PAR Cloud-Agile program to offer its customers value-added 3PAR Cloud-Agile: ASSURED and 3PAR Cloud-Agile: SECURED services through this program.

-- ExaGrid Systems' disk-based backup systems now support the latest version of Vizioncore's vRanger Pro 4.0 back up and recovery software. The combined solution consumes 95% less disk space for backups when compared to standard disk without deduplication, according to ExaGrid. ExaGrid's support for Vizioncore vRanger Pro 4.0 is scheduled to ship within the next 30-days.

-- Pillar Data Systems has made 2TB SATA drives available to the enterprise customers as part of its Pillar Axiom storage system. The new drives push the Axiom's overall usable capacity to more than 1.6PB per system, while driving down overall power consumption by 50% and space consumption by 2X, according to the company.

-- Western Digital (WD) is now shipping desktop 7200RPM 2TB hard drives and is qualifying with OEMs enterprise-class hard drives based on WD's 500GB-per-platter technology. The WD RE4 2 TB is suited for servers, network attached storage and storage networks, according to the company.

-- Kroll Ontrack announced the availability of an enhanced data recovery service program for Samsung hard disk drive (HDD) customers.
